D207's Best for Academic Achievement - Richa Shah
From all accounts, Richa Shah is an extraordinary student and solid human being. She has a positive outlook on life, takes a proactive stance in engaging in experiences to enhance her education, and expects to achieve through her own efforts. There is absolutely no doubt in anyone’s mind that Richa will continue to achieve in whatever she chooses to pursue. We are extremely proud of her accomplishments and proud to recognize her as one of “207’s Best”!





WORLD LANGUAGES:

Maine East is proud to offer the opportunity for senior students to earn a Seal of Biliteracy.  In order to meet the Seal of Biliteracy standard, students must prove proficiency in English AND prove proficiency in one or more other languages based on state approved tests.

SHREK - The Musical

You are invited to join us for a performance of this year’s musical, SHREK. Performances are Friday and Saturday, February 23 & 24 and March 2 & 3 at 7:30 PM.  Tickets may be purchased for $10.00 each.  Please contact Lisa Disparte in the Fine Arts Department (847) 692-8500, or use this FORM to reserve tickets.

DEMON SQUAD:

The Maine East POMS finished their competitive season with a bang-winning the IDTA State Championship title for the 3A Jazz Division! Led by captains Joselle and Aleks, and fellow senior Parisa, the small team of seven knocked out the other 8 competitors in the category. Captain Joselle Portillo advanced to the finals for the solo portion after beating out 54 other solo competitors, and finished 4th in the state for Miss IDTA. To round off her senior year, Joselle was awarded a $500 IDTA college scholarship.

Congratulation to the Demon Squad for their fabulous season! If you love to dance, keep and eye out for future tryout flyers. 




SCREENAGERS
We are excited to present SCREENAGERS: Growing Up in the Digital Age, a documentary about one of the biggest parenting issues of our time. SCREENAGERS addresses one of the most pervasive parenting issues of our time head on—depicting teen struggles over social media, video games, and internet addiction. The film empowers kids to best navigate the digital world and provides practical resources to help them do it.  The film looks at the impact of the digital age on teens and how to help families minimize harmful effects and find balance.  

The film will be shown on March 13th, 2018 at 6:30 pm in the auditorium and is open to all District 207 families to attend.
